ICT-security II
Wider public sector needs better understanding of cyber security
Protecting sensitive data and critical systems is a major concern in view of terror threats and cybercrime.
Government agencies need to allow easier access to information for citizens as well
as share data between agencies, but the risk of security breaches and hacks adds
unfortunate complications and costs.
**************************
Today's security threats are more sophisticated than ever. Building walls and reacting to intrusions is no longer enough to keep your critical systems, data and assets secure.
**************************
Today’s attempts to breach your infrastructure have greater sophistication, agility, complexity and coordination.
Frequently supported and financed by criminal or state-sanctioned organizations, these advanced and persistent cyber attacks seek to damage, disrupt, destroy, and steal your information. They want to stop your mission.
**************************
The Internet has given rise to new opportunities for the public sector to improve efficiency and better serve constituents in the form of digital-government. But with a rapidly growing user base globally and an increasing reliance on the Internet, digital tools are also exposing the public sector to new risks.
**************************
Defensie krimpt, behalve één dienst: cyberbeveiliging krijgt er 25 man bij. ‘Hier gaan elke dag alarmen af omdat er een dreiging is opgespoord’, zegt luitenant-kolonel Miguel De Bruycker.
**************************
